BackgroundMcCabe Industrial Minerals, Inc., for the past thirty-four years has been actively engaged in the processing and marketing of industrial minerals, which are used by manufacturers of glass products, automotive sound deadening products and asphalt shingle manufacturers. McCabe Minerals has also provided services to electric utilities in the management of bottom ash . These services include maintenance of waterways, channels, lagoons and cell building. In order to provide more efficient lagoon maintenance, the company recently placed in service an 8' wide x 40' long dredge capable of dredging to a depth of 25 feet. McCabe Minerals owns and operates three processing plants at Pittsburg, Kansas; Hallam, Nebraska and Davis, Oklahoma. These plants produce headlap granules and backing for asphalt shingle manufacturers in the states of Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. McCabe Minerals management has over 96 years of expertise in the area of nonmetallic mineral processing and marketing. Construction CapabilityMcCabe Industrial Minerals has the expertise to design, construct, fabricate, refurbish, and install all processing equipment and act as general contractor for the construction of mineral processing plants. Corporate History and ExperienceMcCabe Industrial Minerals, started in 1976 as McCabe-Woody & Company, has been involved in the mining, processing and marketing of industrial minerals since its inception. Today, McCabe Minerals is recognized as a reliable processor and marketer of non-metallic minerals with an excellent reputation for quality products and outstanding customer service. The company markets the following: Chemical grade limestone, for use in automotive acoustic products; Barium sulfate (Barite), for industrial uses such as: friction products, foam rubber and automotive acoustic products; and Mill scale used in the manufacture of cement. The company owns and operates three headlap granules plants. The Royal Black Headlap Granules plant is located near Pittsburg, KS and utilizes coal slag as the feedstock from nearby Empire District Company's Asbury power plant. Located near Davis, OK the company produces Rhyolite Headlap Granules from a nearby deposit of a granitic stone called Rhyolite. The Nebraska Granules plant is located in Hallam, NE near Lincoln. This plant utilizes coal slag from N.P.P.D. Sheldon Station to produce Royal Black Headlap Granules. All of these plants serve asphalt shingle manufacturers in the states of Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado and Tennessee. Cumulatively, senior management has over 96 years of expertise in the mineral processing industry. This extensive background places McCabe Industrial Minerals as a dominant regional player in the supply of roofing raw materials. Over the past thirty-four years, the company has continued to grow and expand. Since 1991, the company has continued to grow its revenues by acquisition of new accounts and the construction of the Rhyolite Headlap Granules plant in 1993, and the Nebraska granules plant which was completed in 1997. |
